Sayeed Devraj-Kizuk

Research Coordinator specializing in neuroscience and biometrics at the University of Montreal

I am a Research Coordinator specializing in neuroscience and biometrics, with a focus on measuring and interpreting biosignals from the human body. My primary research interests center on analyzing EEG signals from the brain, ECG signals from the heart, and other physiological signals to understand human behavior and cognition.

Current Positions

I currently serve as Laboratory Coordinator and Clinical Research Coordinator for two leading laboratories at the University of Montreal:

  • Cognition, Audition and Time Lab, CRIR-IURDPM - Laboratory Coordinator
  • The Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Research Laboratory, École d’audiologie et orthophonie - Clinical Research Coordinator

In these roles, I coordinate research activities, manage data collection and analysis, and contribute to ongoing investigations in cognitive neuroscience and auditory processing.

Research Interests

My work focuses on:

  • Electroencephalography (EEG) - Brain signal analysis and cognitive processing
  • Electrocardiography (ECG) - Cardiac signal analysis and psychophysiology
  • Biosignal Processing - Advanced signal processing techniques for physiological data
  • Cognitive Neuroscience - Understanding attention, perception, and higher-order processing
  • Psychophysiology - Relationship between physiological signals and psychological states

Background

I completed my graduate training at the University of Alberta, where I developed expertise in neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, and data science. My research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.

Research Philosophy

I believe in the power of objective measurement to understand subjective human experiences. By combining rigorous experimental design with advanced signal processing techniques, we can gain insights into the fundamental processes that govern human cognition and behavior.
